The shooting of this film is complete and the post-production work is on to facilitate a March release to keep up with the Cricket World Cup fever. At this stage, the makers of Patta Patti received a communication from the government that the title cannot be termed as a Tamil word and hence the film would not be eligible for tax sops.
Following this, the filmmakers have decided to rename Patta Patti as Potta Potti.

Anjali is slowly but steadily making Tamil films

Though Anjali debuted a few years back opposite in the film ‘Katradhu Tamizh’ opposite Jiiva, she is referred to as the ‘Angaadi Theru’ girl in the industry. Thanks to her last year’s Vasanthabalan-directed superhit film ‘Angaadi Theru’, Anjali is slowly but steadily making her way to the top in order to achieve her long-time dream of becoming a top heroine in Tamil films.
After the successful ‘Angaadi Theru’, unfortunately, her next film ‘Rettaichuzhi’ didn’t do well despite the fact that debutant director Thamira had done a decent job and that the film starred the legendary directors K. Balachander and Bharathiraaja in lead roles. She also had a forgettable outing in ‘Magizchi’ late last year opposite director-actor Kalanjiyam.
Her latest film ‘Thoonganagaram’ opposite Vimal, though, is said to be doing average business and this has kept the smile in place on her pretty face. “I have realized that post Angaadi Theru, the fans have started expecting a lot from me. Whenever I do roles that don’t offer fodder for my acting talents, the fans do question me and ask me why should I be doing those films.
“My upcoming film, produced by director A.R. Murugadoss, has a very substantial role for me. When I was initially offered the role, I said I was busy but when Murugadoss Sir narrated the story to me, I immediately signed the project as I found the script very compelling. I play Jai’s heroine in the film and have an equal role as that of the hero. This would be one of the most significant films in my career so far,” informs Anjali.

Cinematographer cum Director Santosh Sivan’s Latest Movie Urumi being made in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English with Prithviraj, Genelia, Prabhu Deva, Vidya Balan, Tabu in the lead roles.
Now he changed titles of film according to their launguages. Tamil version Urumi movie titled as “Pathinaindham Nootrandu Uraivaal” and English version titled Vasco Da Gama.
The film is releasing worldwide in four languages on March 31, 2011 as the big summer release.

Anjali is doing her first mass movie

The Telugu girl Anjali, born and brought up in Chennai is one of the finest young actors in Tamil cinema.
She is an actress of substance as proved by films like Katradhu Thamizh, Rettai Suzhi and the crowning glory Angadi Theru.
However now she is searching to be accepted as a mass heroine by doing big commercial films.
In an interview to a newspaper Anjali said: “Yes in 2011, I’ plan to choose projects which are commercially viable at the box-office.”
Anjali understands that Tamil cinema will recognise only heroines who do mass films with popular heroes like a Vijay or Ajith. Those seen doing “good cinema” with “realistic directors” never get a call from top commercial directors who want heroines to remain just “eye candy” and songs in exotic foreign locations.
However the actress is said to be fantastic in debutant director Gaurav’s Thoonga Nagaram, in which she plays “a platform artist working for a local channel” in Madurai.
She is paired opposite Vimal in the film which has hit music by Sundar C Babu.
The hit melody song Koorana Paravaigal sung by Hariharan and Chinmayi has been picturised on Anjali and Vimal. Though the song has been shot in Malaysia, it will look like Madurai.
Interestingly Anjali is doing her first mass movie Venkat Prabhu directed Ajith’s Mankatha in which she is paired opposite Vaibhav. Let us hope, Anjali shines among a galaxy of glam girls like Trisha, Sneha and Lakshmi Rai

Sadha says I was waiting for good stories in Tamil cinema

Sadha was a leading actress in Tamil cinema. She had acted in films like Jayam, Varnajalam, Anniyan, Priyasagi, Tirupathi and Unnale Unnale. She was equivalent to Trisha and Nayanthara. But all of a sudden she vanished. She started acting in Kannada and Malayalam films. After a long time, she is back in Tamil through the film Puli Vesham.
Sadha while speaking to the media said,” Since I was busy in Hindi and Telugu films, I was not able to act in Tamil films. I was waiting for good stories in Tamil.
Many directors approached me for my call sheet. But I did not like the stories they told me. I refused Tamil films because the stories was not good. But I liked the story of Puli Vesham when director P Vasu narrated it to me. There is importance in my role so I agreed to act in it.”

This is what our Thalaivan STR Silambarasan posted on his Facebook Fan Page which consists of more than a Lakh of his Followers.

We can indeed give you a celebrity follow of what happened in the status.
It was like 19 hour ago when he posted this status in his Personal account as well as in his Fans Page. And we were able to see comments flowing in. And then it started with Premgi Amaren Coming in and questioning on whom he likes.
The Convo went as this :
Premgi : So is that suppose to mean you are not Thalapathy Fan ???
STR : Enakku Thalapathy romba pudikkum and Thala na Uyiru podhuma..
Premgi : I love Thala too;-)))

STR : Ok Machi done .. Pongal Plan is awesome
Most Importantly we indeed need to clarify this. We as a team running this E-Fans Association are well aware of people who post rude comments on Thalaivan STR Silambarasan. He has made it very clear that he his of no way struck to the chords of FEW adamant Fans who always mock a particular hero in support of an other Star.
Please avoid such conversations, there is a team which is growing up silently watching the Fans of the two main stars mocking each other. We should watch all movies no matter of the Fans Feud. Rather we should work on to get a better movie than the counter part.
And get to read it fully, understand what our STR has written there and then let your comment. People do not get to understand what is written and shout nonsense.
As Thala Ajith Says ” For the fans of Thala ” Vaazhu vaazha vidu. And persons following this alone can claim to be a TRUE Thala Fan.
The True Fans and Loyalist of STR Silambarasan praise this open gesture of STR over the Actor. Which is also a good sign for the Tamil cinema Industry.
